HIKE INN

I was looking for a new destination in the Southeast for our annual spring break vacation. I read about the Hike Inn and we had to go. As the name implies you have to hike to get there. Breakfast, dinner nice beds and hot showers are included. Since the girls already had one backpacking trip completed I thought we could do an overnight in tents and then head to the Hike Inn. Added bonus: the trail to the Hike Inn starts in Amicalola Falls State Park which is also the gateway to Springer Mountain and the start of the Appalachian Trail

Amicalola Falls

Family dinner, the weather was bad and getting worse

The morning after, it rained and the wind blew all night. I did not get much sleep

We decided to hike the longer way to the inn and went to Springer Mountain first.

This would look great in my office

So would this

The Hike Inn has 2 wings of guest rooms, dining hall, sunrise room and central bathroom

Jamie went with us on our last trip, hard to believe this is Georgia.

Scenery was beautiful but glad we were not in tents for this one

Sunrise room that had puzzles, games and this great wood burning fireplace.

This is the dining hall, since the weather was so bad there were only about 6 guests

I am ready to go back, Leann not so much

HAPPY TRAILS, STEVE
