KULUSUK

After a week in Iceland we boarded the flight to Kulusuk Greenland.

The airport was bigger than I expected since there are only a max of 2 flights per day and zero flights on some days. Our oldest daughter was stalking our flight and found a web cam at the airport. She said for us to wave but did not see us.

Greenland baggage carousel, this wins as best view ever for picking up baggage.

4 wheelers took our bags to the lodge but we had to hoof it for 45 minutes to reach the lodge The scenery for the walk was pretty good.

Kulusuk has a population of 241 people, that is not a typo. East Greenland is a very lonely place. Kulusuk is the launching pad for guides leading customers into East Greenland.

Sled dogs are very popular for winter transportation, this puppy was so cute.

Meeting room

Dining room, the lodge was very comfortable.

It is the only house with running water and septic. I asked if we could spend the week here? Nope.

We had to repack for the hiking trip, our room was chaos.

We did a hike around the village and stopped at the local store.

Of course they had HEINZ ketchup.

HAPPY TRAILS, STEVE
