We visited Leann’s sister in SC. She was a great tour guide and took us to Congaree and some great hiking locations in the SC mountains. In the Smokies you are either going up or down.The weather turned lousy for the last night of the trip: rain, wind and cold. The Smokies work off a permit system, you send in your itinerary and if accepted you have to stick with what you submitted. We just completed a 10 mile hike to our designated camping area for the night. We did not know that the park had closed the site due to bear activity. They were suppose to notify us but didn’t.
