STEAM TRAIN

Our oldest daughter Jennifer and her husband Mike were visiting for the weekend. Jenny wanted to do a hike in the CVNP. She picked one of the trails we did when the girls were young: the 2 waterfalls hike. Last time she picked the trail the weather was miserable: rain and cold. This time we showed up and the trail was closed for repairs. She can’t get a break, maybe next time Jen.

The ranger at the trailhead did say that the steam train would be rolling by in about 15 minutes if we wanted to see that. We did and found a good spot to wait, it was worth it.

Since the waterfall hike was out we headed to the ledges for another family favorite
It was a beautiful day but the park was packed.
Jenny called Mike up to the stage.
I see something new every time we hike this trail.

I have to say it is a lot easier hiking with adult daughters. No whining and I didn’t even bring skittles.
