We were headed to Emerald Isle to meet family for a week at the beach. We had time to spare before our 3:00 check in so we searched All Trails and found this hike.
Sinkhole, the locals call it Bob’s sinkhole.

The sinkhole was discovered in 2003 by Robert “Bob” Kaylor, a wildfire technician working in the forest. It was named in his honor and was formerly marked by a commemorative plaque.
