Chiricahua is referred to as a sky island. Sky island is a term for a mountain range that rises up from the desert (AKA sea). The higher elevation leads to cooler temperatures, more precipitation and a resulting change to flora and fauna.
Colder and more precipitation: CHECK.
It is hard to beat fresh snow and blue sky.
I saw this guy cross the road and stopped where he crossed hoping he would cooperate and he/she did. Every Bobcat sighting for the Whytes has been from a vehicle.
