I had a few days of vacations that were not scheduled for anything, let’s go to California and see Lassen. We flew into Sacramento and headed North. Fires were raging at the time so we changed plans on the fly due to road and city closures.

Another park, another trail. This never gets old
Forest fires are a constant in the arid west and Lassen did not escape unscathed.
Lassen Volcano
Not the greatest video but there were hundreds (maybe thousands) of butterflies flying through the valley. We pulled off the road to see if we could get them on video.
We stopped here for a hike.
Coastal redwood forests are special places, you almost expect to see a dinosaur walk by.
This is a fallen redwood, not a sidewalk.
This display was at the visitor center.
There were other people visiting and we took turns taking pictures.
We headed to the coast and took our time heading back to Sacramento.
Leann is on the hunt for birds.
We had a park in mind to be number 59. Any guesses? You will just have to wait and see.
