Standing Stone trail is an 84 mile point to point trail in South Central Pennsylvania. We started at Greenwood Furnace and ended just west of Mount Union for a 27 mile weekend trip.
Day 1 started near Greenwood Furnace, we made a steep climb to the ridge and stayed there most of the day until we had a steep descent to camp

Lots of rocks getting to the ridge

We had to set up camp early since we could not camp in state game lands, this made for a long second day

Day 2: 16 miles back to a car and then shuttle to the start.

State game land, Pennsylvania has a lot of them

The last part of the trail is the legendary 1000 steps. I didn’t count but there are a lot of them. I later learned there are 1,036 of them

This was a nice hike but not a do over, one and done.
HAPPY TRAILS, STEVE
