GODDARD LAKE STATE PARK

We met our friends for a day of kayaking and biking at Goddard. They even invited us for dinner.

Kayaks are ready to go. I like kayaking but loading/unloading/loading/unloading can be a pain. We went mid week so the lake and bike trails were quiet.
Leann on the water. The lake is 1,680 acres.
Immature Bald Eagle, it takes 4-5 years for them to develop the white head and yellow bill of an adult.

The bike path circles the lake. We cross country skied the same trail one winter.

I would definitely do this again, and we just did…..

GODDARD LAKE REDUX

Well we did it again but a little differently.

Even though we were on a lake we decided to do a shuttle. We left a car at boat launch 3 (#1). Then drove our cars with the kayaks to a newly opened access point (#2), paddled up to Cemetery Road (#3) and then back to #1. We then shuttled drivers back so we could get all cars and kayaks at the same point and then we could do the bike section.
Monday and the lake was not very crowded.
Leann and Anita paddling through the weeds. Leann is on the right and you can see the water coming off her paddle.
We saw a lot of Osprey fishing in this part of the lake. It was fun watching them hover and then dive bomb trying to get lunch.
The bike trail goes around the lake and has a short section of road riding. The trail is rolling with lots of turns.
Leann likes her new bike.

Stay tuned if we go back to round 3 at Goddard.
