VAN WATER SYSTEM UPDATE

After a few tries and one burned out pump I think we finally have the water system updated and working in Blaze.

#1: we have qty. 2, 30 liter stainless steel tanks for fresh water

#2: quick disconnect to change water line from empty tank to full tank

#3: dump tank, all tanks are inside the van so they will not freeze.

#4: Seaflo series 21 water pump, their tech support is really good

#5: Seaflo water accumulator to eliminate pulsing of the pump.

Fingers crossed that this will keep working.

Well after a few months this system was still working great. The accumulator reduced the number of times the pump cycled. There was only one problem: everyone camping close to us knew when the pump started, it was incredibly loud.

After awhile we couldn’t take it and looked for options. We asked our friends what they had in their trailer and if it was quiet. They had the Pentair Shurflo, number 40008-101-A65. We bought one to give it a try.

You can not use an accumulator with this pump which made plumbing easier. Since I had to redo the plumbing I decided to upgrade our tubing from polyethylene to silicone. This is more flexible and is less prone to changing taste of the water that runs though it.

Here is the latest and hopefully the last water system

DRUM ROLL…..WORKED GREAT AND VERY QUIET!

I bought another to keep in the van since eventually the pump will fail and probably in the worst possible place and time. Feels good to have insurance.

HAPPY TRAILS, STEVE
