Mon and Dad met on a blind date
Dad told his parents he was going back to Ohio and ask Jean to marry him. He hitchhiked back but Mom was not in Ohio. She moved to Michigan to be a nurse at a girl’s school.
Dad was a star swimmer, Mom played the violin at her high school graduation. We have the violin hanging in our library.
Dad liked big bands, Mom was into classical
It was scandalous that Mom was older than Dad (September vs December).
The next generation: me, Molly, Kerry and Jeanie. We are so cute but I don’t look very happy. Apparently I hated having my picture taken even then.

I told Mom and Dad about Leann when we started dating. Leann was also a nurse and had the same birthday as my mom. I told Dad it was OK since Leann was a Methodist and we went to the Episcopalian church. He laughed. Apparently Mom grew up a Methodist. His advice: run away.
