The campground looks great from this viewpoint. What you don’t see is the campers are stacked up like cord wood. Felt like we were in a Walmart parking lot with a good view. FYI: the bathrooms were dirty, it did not appear they got cleaned regularly.

We have not seen a mountain lion in the wild but hope to at some point. Hopefully it will be at a reasonable distance.

This is as far as I got, the smooth rocks looked wet and it was a very long way to the bottom.

On the way back to camp we took a side trail we were hoping would give us a top down view of the window. It did not pan out but we enjoyed the views anyway.

If you look at the bottom middle of this picture, it looks like a tunnel was dug in the mountain. I could not find any information about it.

We were chilling at our campsite when the campground host arrived and told us we had to leave since we only had the site for 1 night and people were waiting. We forgot that we had another site for the next 2 nights. We apologized and said we would be gone in 10 minutes (we were). We didn’t have cell service so asked them for our new site number. They reacted like we were asking for a lot from them. They told us our new site number and added that it was not very good and seemed to enjoy relaying the bad news. Maybe they should not work with the public. We went to the next site and it was horrible so we said F this and left.
Turns out we ran into people that were camped next to us at Big Bend a few days later at Davis Mountains. They asked what happened since they thought we were going to be at Big Bend longer. We told them the story and they said nobody stayed in our site, it was empty until they left. My head exploded.
HAPPY TRAILS, STEVE
