

We read online that the park is a busy place and you should arrive early to catch the ferry. We arrived early but no worries the park was virtually empty. The weather was horrible the day before we arrived so that may have kept visitors away. We call that summer in Ohio.

We took the shortest ferry ride ever to the fort. You can see the opposite shore behind the sailboat. In my “youth” that would have been a short swim.


This “fort” was manned by six soldiers and one officer.


The fort was not very big but was well placed to protect the waterway.
