BROWNS CANYON

ESTABLISHED FEBRUARY 19, 2015

21,589 ACRES

We debated going out of the country for a trip but with the world in chaos we decided to stay in the US. Last time we visited Northern New Mexico the girls were young so we headed back to see some old favorites and hopefully find something new (to us).

We flew into Denver and our first stop was Browns Canyon National Monument in SE Colorado. We struggled a little bit finding the place since there were no signs until you were in the park.

The views made up for the lack of signs

We hiked on the Turret Trail

Castors and Whytes, together again for another adventure

We all agreed this is a must return area. The camp ground on the Arkansas River was one of the nicest we have seen. Apparently early spring is the time to go, the place was empty. I would love to have this rock work in our backyard.

PART 2

As promised, we returned to camp in Blaze.

Little did I know how popular the canyon is with off road vehicles. They were obnoxious, constantly driving by our camp site. This place is dead to me.

TURRET TRAIL, AGAIN

We were sitting at camp and I kept hearing cows. I walked up the hill and ran into a cowboy and cowgirl. I talked to them and they were taking the herd across the river. I like these off road vehicles.

HAPPY TRAILS, STEVE
