This was a hard day of hiking: two creek crossings, more boulder fields, steep drops and a little rock climbing thrown in.
This creek crossing does not look like much but it was not fun. I got about a third of the way across and got into really fast water. You have 2 poles and 2 feet. You keep 3 of them planted as you work your way across. My only problem: every time I put my right foot down I seemed to find a very slick boulder. Leann thought I was going under (me too) but the with guides help I made it across.

We worked our way across this about a third of the way up, not much to stop you if you fall.

Our guides were told that we could easily walk across this section at low tide. We were at low tide and the water still covered the area. The guide checked it out and the water kept getting deeper as he worked his way along the edge. To cross in the water, we would be swimming.
The guides conferred and then told us we could get where we needed to be using a human ladder. They explained the steps to us and I will never forget the second step. Put your left foot here and place your right foot on my left shoulder and then reach for the next rock and guide. Say what??
We made it.

On to the last challenge. I though to myself, oh shit when the guides pulled out the ropes. Here again it was a steep drop as you worked your way along a narrow crack.

The Whytes on vacation, this was an easier creek crossing. It was cold.

Looking back the way we came.

Boat met us and dropped us at our next camp.

Hard day but reward was camping by 3 glaciers.

The next day we did a hike above camp.

The icebergs were left on shore during low tide.

This is typical of where we hiked.
