We stopped here on another road trip to the West with the girls. I loved this place: great trail, scenery and history. Talk about a trifecta.

Chinle Creek runs through the canyon and is a tributary of the San Juan River.

Jenny on the trail, not sure she liked it as much as I did. The trail was very smooth but there were steep drops. I look back at these old pictures and I am a little shocked about where took our kids. They all survived and have fond memories of family vacations. That’s my story…

We all saw the face, do you?

White House Ruin is the oldest white house and was built between 1060 and 1275 AD. At it’s peak the building had 80 rooms and housed up to 800 people. The population declined in the mid 1300’s since the Puebloans left for better farmland.
