We recently returned from a trip to Arizona when Leann read an article about the newest national park. It was only 5 hours south of us so we started planning a long weekend trip. We waited for a good weather window (no snow) and booked a hotel.
Weather.com was just a little off….

Our first view of the newest national park

hard to tell but the clouds are lifting

Our first view of the New River which is a famous rafting and kayaking river.

Day 2 and the weather is much improved

Glade Creek trail, the creek drains into the New River

There is nice camp ground near here that we plan on visiting again.

The biggest festival in West Virginia happens here on the third Saturday in October. People come from all over the country to jump off this bridge

We returned and stopped at Glade Creek Campground for a first stop on a trip in Blaze. Blaze was clean but six miles on a wet, dirt road took care of that.
