ALLEGHENY RIVER

We liked day trips in our smaller kayaks so we decided to get touring kayaks that we could use for overnight trips. Our first trip was the section of the Allegheny River from Buckaloons to Tionesta. First day is a long one covering approximately 20 miles. It is worth the effort since you can then camp on the Allegheny Islands Wilderness Area.

You paddle past quite a few cabins but then you get a nice stretch with nothing but water and trees.

Leann bought a Native Watercraft which is a very nice boat. I wanted the same kind but they did not have one that fit me. Who knew you had to get fitted for a kayak?

Eagles are very common on the Allegheny
